Steve Miller

President and Founder
Mr. Miller serves as the President of Orion Exploration, LLC. Mr. Miller has been in the energy industry for nearly 40 years. He oversees all aspects of Orion, including the subsidiary Orion Energy Resources, LLC. He was the Former Chairman of Finance and Gas Marketing of McIntosh Gas Company based in Oklahoma. Mr. Miller was the sole proprietor of Miller Exploration, which drilled and operated over 100 wells in Oklahoma and Texas. He has developed oil and gas prospects in 12 different counties. Mr. Miller graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology.

Daniel B. (Skip) Honeyman, III

Vice President New Ventures, Founder
Mr. Honeyman serves as the Vice President of New Ventures for Orion Exploration, LLC and has worked in the oil and gas industry for 38 years. He is responsible for identifying potential conventional vertical and horizontal plays, including fractured carbonates, tight sandstone, shale and coal formations. He also oversees the utilization of dewatering technologies in conventional sandstone and limestone reservoirs. Mr. Honeyman previously served as Vice President for D.L. Goins and Associates, Petroleum Geologist for HS Resources, Inc., Geological/Operations Manager and Independent Consultant for Davis Brothers, LLC., and Geologist for Essex Exploration, Inc. He graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelors of Science in Geology and is a Registered and Certified Professional Geologist. 

John Brown

Vice President of Operations and Engineering, Founder
Mr. Brown serves as the Vice President of Operations and Engineering for Orion Exploration, LLC and has been in the oil and gas industry for 40 years. Currently, he provides project management on Orion’s drilling and production operations. Previously, Mr. Brown served as Manager of Operations for Questar Exploration, Senior Engineer for HS Resources, Manager of Operations for Tide West Oil Company, President of Operations for Wildfire Oil, Manager of Operations for Marion Corporation, Lead Engineer for Arabian American Oil Company (“Aramco”), and Production & Safety Engineer for Gulf Oil Corporation. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering Technology.

 

Matthew Westfall

Vice President Land, Owner
Mr. Westfall serves as the Vice President of Land for Orion Exploration, LLC and he has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is responsible for all of the land functions within Orion, including lease negotiation and acquisition, lease records maintenance and division order preparation and oversight. Previously, he served in the land departments at Petrohawk Energy, ONEOK Resources and Unit Drilling and Exploration (now Unit Petroleum Company). Mr. Westfall graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

 

Paige Colpitt

Reservoir Engineer

Graduated in the fall of 2013 from The University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering. Paige is intimately familiar with the complexities of the oil and gas industry, being raised in a family that has owned, drilled, completed and operated wells the industry for three generations.

Paige began working for Orion in 2012 to provide support for the Mississippian Lime operation in Oklahoma. Her role is to conduct reserve estimates and economic analysis of exploration and development drilling opportunities.  She has had extensive involvement of project analysis and technical presentations. She also worked on the generation of reserves and cash flow models for the use of budgeting and financial reporting. Currently, Paige is undertaking the evaluation of potential core area producing property acquisitions and divestitures in Oklahoma and Kansas.
